WASHINGTON – Rigil announced today its partnership with Hampton University’s Department of Aviation in the School of Engineering and Technology. Hampton University will be using the StrataGem platform for its Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved Air Traffic Collegiate Training Initiative (AT-CTI) training program.
StrataGem provides a rich learning experience for the organizations and individuals who use it, no matter how they choose to style their training curriculum. It has adaptive learning, competition, metrics-based data, and self-evaluation features. Once adopted, organizations have full control of the tool and can easily tailor content on their terms, without any hands-on IT support or additional costs.
StrataGem has proven success in the aviation training field. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has used StrataGem to train air traffic controllers remotely and in classroom settings, using its mobile applications, since 2019. The StrataGem platform enables trainees to learn the concepts by immersing in visual and lifelike aviation experiences.
“We’re proud to continue our partnership with Hampton University to provide StrataGem to enhance learning of our nation’s future aviation leaders,” said Pankaj Sharma, Rigil’s Chief Operating Officer. “This continues our ongoing partnerships with universities across the country at a time when virtual learning is more important than ever before.”
As part of the partnership, Rigil has:
- Provided a dedicated subdomain on our StrataGem platform for Hampton University students and faculty.
- Provided ongoing best practices, guidance, assistance, data loading, and help desk assistance.
- Dedicated a liaison to work directly with our Hampton University points of contact.
“We are very thankful to Rigil for their support of the Hampton University Department of Aviation and its students. This partnership assists in developing future aviators from our world-class institution, thus creating greater diversity within the aviation industry, and we are truly appreciative,” said Hampton University President, Dr. William R. Harvey.
“This partnership will provide our air traffic control students with an alternative way to study and retain the information they need to graduate and prepare for life with the FAA,” said Professor Andrew Smith, who runs the University’s Air Traffic Control Program. “Air traffic control has numerous rules and procedures students must commit to memory and the StrataGem software will do just that, meeting the needs of today’s students through technology and gamification.”
This is part of the company’s larger initiative to develop a pathway for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) to access Rigil’s services and solutions.
Earlier this year, the FAA chose StrataGem for its national research study to validate remote learning beyond traditional classrooms with 10 higher learning institutions including:
- Auburn University
- InterAmerican University
- Purdue University
- The Ohio State University
- Tulsa Community College
- University of Akron
- University of Nebraska-Omaha
- University of North Dakota
- University of Oklahoma
- Wichita State University
